Basically the do's and dont's at the convention

General Rules for the Convention

  1. Please display your badge at all times within the venue.
  2. Please extent all common curtesy and respect your fellow attendees. This means asking them politely before taking pictures, video, glomping or any contact that might be considered inappropriate. No means no, stop means stop and you should respect their wishes. Also people should behave and act in a civil fashion and keep the noise down where common sense dictates such as in screenings or during panels and workshops.
  3. Attendees should stay out of restricted staff areas unless invited. This means you are not permitted to go behind trade tables, registration desks or in staff only rooms.
  4. Convention eqiupment is off limits and only touch under staff supervision and permission. Cost of damage to equipment will be reclaimed from the offender or you will be prosecuted.
  5. While we won't ban free hug signs we will frown at them and sigh.
  6. Theft will be taken very seriously so do not take any "souvenirs" such as banners or large posters or anything belonging to the convention, other people or traders.
  7. We would request you carry photo ID at all times particulary when participating in 18+ activities. ie. Drinking or attending an over 18's event.
  8. Children under the age of 13 must have parental/guardian supervision to attend the convention.

9.      Nom-con does not tolerate the intoxication or the serving of alcohol to minors. If you are hosting a party where alcohol is being served, it is your responsibility as host to ensure that the age of anyone drinking alcohol is checked. You should also designate someone not to drink, so that there is a fully competent person present to deal with any emergencies that might arise.

10. Please respect the hotel and it's staff. Do not damage the hotel or the rooms and be mindful of noise levels and of other guests staying there. You may be prosecuted and either way it reflects poorly on the anime community and may cause us difficulties when trying to organise another convention.

11. No filesharing or sale of counterfeit goods. Such goods may be confiscated and you will be evicted from the convention.

All the rules above should be respected by all the attendees and staff and where a rule is broken or a complaint made there will be a warning or depending on the severity of the offence and also if warnings were ignored you will be ejected from the convention and/or the gardai may be called in some cases. Also the badge remains the property of Nom-con and will be taken off the attendee if evicted.

Everything stated above is mostly common sense so use your head and have a good time at the con.
