Nom-Con Pokémon Tournament FAQ

Q. What do I need to bring to play?

A. You will need to bring your own DS, DS Lite, Dsi or Dsi XL and your own copy of Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heart Gold or Soul Silver Versions to play. We only allow official games as R4s have issues connecting with Pokémon Battle Revolution on the Wii.

Q. My game comes from American/Japan/etc, can I still play?

A. Your game can be an American, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Spanish, French, whatever language you like. If there are issues with your version connecting to Pokémon Battle Revolution there will be a spare games on standby to trade your Pokémon over to for that battle.

Q. Who do I play with for a Doubles battle?

A. A Doubles Battle involves 2 players having 2 Pokémon on the field at the same time. Each player has 4 Pokémon on their team.

Q. I don’t want to battle my friend, do I have to?

A. No, just tell us before the battle and if there are other people available we will pair you against them instead.

Q. What happens if I battle against someone playing in another language? Will may game become corrupted?

A. If you battle against a game in another language from yours, your game will automatically translate the battle into your game’s language. There are no issues or side effects from doing this.

Q. Why are Pokémon X,Y,Z not on the Banned List?

A. Quite simply, we missed them. If you spot any errors like this please inform us. This is our first Tournament and we are bound to make the odd mistake.

Q. What are the Clauses? What do they do?

A. The Clauses are rules set in place by the players to keep the game fair for all.

We are using the following clauses in this event:

Species Clause: No player can have two the same Pokémon on the Team Sheet

Item Clause: No player can have two the same items on the Team Sheet

Sleep Clause: No player can have two Pokémon asleep at the same time

Freeze Clause: No player can have two Pokémon frozen at the same time

Last Move Clause: If you use the moves PERISH SONG, DESTINY BOND, EXPLOSION, SELFDESTRUCT, (I'm sure there's another that I can't think of right now), on your last Pokémon, you lose, even if the opponent loses all their Pokémon
